The Essence of Depp Premiere
The Essence of Depp is an Indie feature that explores the lifestyle of look-a-likes, the people who come to Hollywood not to become an actor but because they look like a famous actor and they make a career of it. The film is shot documentary style and features Y&R favorites old and new. Christian LeBlanc plays a Robert Downey Jr. ASSimilar, Bob Jr., who takes Tom Hanson (Stacey Souther, who co-wrote the script), a dead ringer for Johnny Depp, under his wing. David Lago (ex-Raul) is a Richard Greico ASSimilar, Thad Luckinbill plays JB and John Enos (ex-Bobby) appears as himself. Even Scott Burkhurt from Y&R's wardrobe team took on the task of Costume Designer. As the audience follows ASSimilars on their journey trying to carve out a career in Hollywood there is some great nods to Johnny Depp throughout, the Viper Room, his Hollywood Star, a Willy Wonka wannabe, all highlight with a great soundtrack. It was truly a labor of love and a whole lot of fun for all that participated!
A premiere was held at the Bungalow Club in Los Angeles, California, in May. The cast and crew joined special guests for an evening of great food, fine wine and a screening of The Essence of Depp.
